Research Coordinator, Lammi Biological Research Station
The University of Helsinki, Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences is seeking a
RESEARCH COORDINATOR
for the fixed contract at Lammi Biological Station, 1 Jan 2026 until 31 Dec 2028. The starting date can be negotiated. Your primary task is to develop the research and teaching of the station. You are responsible for coordinating research, coordinating internship programme and participating in other activities at the station. You are active in acquiring external funding, external communication and in stakeholder collaboration. The position may include supervisory tasks. You work closely with the station manager Janne Sundell.

You are the expert we are looking for if you work with development- and service-oriented mindset, are comfortable in organizing daily activities, and have excellent skills in collaboration and communications. You are flexible and eager to work with people from different backgrounds.
REQUIREMENTS
An appointee to the position must hold
- a doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g. ecology, environmental research)
- academic coordinating experience
- demonstrated success in obtaining external funding
When considering the applicant’s qualifications, attention will be given also to experience in field work, scientific publications, other research results of scientific value, teaching and supervisory experience. Furthermore, the applicant’s activity in the scientific community and societal interaction, international research experience and positions in Finnish and/or international organizations will also be taken into account. Fluent Finnish and English language skills are required.

Lammi Biological Station is one of the biggest research stations in Finland with year-round activities. It is a place for diverse research, teaching, seminars and meetings with ca. 20 employees and tens of visiting scientists.

The salary will be based on the job requirement scheme for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. The gross salary is between 3600 – 4200 €/month, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
