Laboratory technician, Lammi Biological Station
Lammi Biological Station is one of three research stations in the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Helsinki, along with Tvärminne Zoological Station and Kilpisjärvi Biological Station. At the station, research, teaching and meeting activities are year-round. The station serves the entire university.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
for fixed-term employment 3.3.-31.12.2025. Lammi Biological Station laboratory conducts water analyses from natural waters to the university's own long-term studies, research projects, course needs, and commissioned studies for all customers.
The laboratory technician's duties include preparation of water samples, laboratory analyses, result verification and delivery of analysis results, filing, compilation of billing information, and tasks related to quality control of the laboratory. Laboratory technicians are expected to have knowledge of the following analyses: nutrient analyses (P and N), pH, turbidity, conductivity, alkalinity, color, oxygen, CODM, chlorophyll. Advantage is the experience of carbon and cation determinations, or other laboratory special skills.
The task is suitable for a careful and accurate employee with experience in laboratory work. The task requires an independent and responsible approach. The position requires good Finnish or English language skills, as well as basic IT skills. The training of a laboratory analyst, for example, provides good preparation for the task. The work will start on 3 March 2025 or by agreement. The salary of the position is based on the salary system of the universities and the total salary is c. 2400-3200 €/month depending on the experience and education of the person to be selected.
