Technical SAP Specialist
We are looking for a technical SAP specialist to join the SAP Services -team at the University of Helsinki's IT Center (Tike) in a permanent position. The selected candidate can begin as early as spring 2025 or according to agreement later this fall. Technical specialists working in the SAP Services team of the IT Center's IT Solutions -unit are responsible for the technical maintenance and development of the University of Helsinki's SAP systems, as well as support for system development (on-premise and cloud).
The university's SAP environment includes financial, human resources, and BW systems. Both traditional on-premise and cloud service technologies are used (e.g., SAP S4 on HANA Finance, HR ERP, Fiori Gateway and Fiori desktop, BW on HANA, PI, Solution Manager, SuccessFactors, SAP Analytics Cloud). One interesting task that the selected person will participate in is the ongoing project at the university, where the current HR ERP is being replaced by SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, and SAP HR interfaces are being transferred from PI to Integration Suite.
What we expect from you:
You have experience and expertise in SAP Basis tasks and/or technical tasks related to SAP Cloud services.
We appreciate knowledge and work experience for example in the following technical areas:
- SAP Basis expertise; Netweaver, Portal, PI, Fiori, Solution Manager
- Operating systems: Linux (Red Hat, SUSE)
- Databases: SAP HANA, MaxDB
- SAP Cloud services, e.g.
- SAP BTP (SAP Business Technology Platform)
- SAP Integration Suite
- SAP Cloud Platform
- SAP SuccessFactors
Successful performance in the role also requires readiness to stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies, best practices, and industry trends, as well as a willingness to learn and develop yourself.
It is an advantage to have experience with SAP cloud migrations, experience related to Fiori development, and experience in user management and access rights.

- Good English language skills (the SAP services team is English-speaking) and sufficient Finnish language skills (the IT Center is mostly Finnish-speaking)
Additionally, you enjoy development projects and are happy to share your technical expertise and ideas, but basic maintenance work is also enjoyable for you. In this role, you will work closely with the owners of SAP systems and key users of SAP applications, as well as consultants and technical experts from framework agreement partners providing SAP expert services. In addition to the SAP Services team, other technical specialist groups in the IT Center will support your work. The technical SAP specialist participates in SAP development projects either as a technical specialist or a technical lead.

The salary for this position is 4100–4900 euros per month, depending on the expertise and experience of the selected candidate. You can also state your salary expectation in your application. A six-month probationary period applies to this position.
