TRAINEE for the WP2 of the DECA project

The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

We are looking for a TRAINEE for the WP2 of the DECA project (1372272) funded by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) (PI Inga Jasinskaja-Lahti).
 
The duration of a traineeship is from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €852 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee. 

About the position  

The trainee is expected to contribute to the work of the WP2 “Collective psychological ownership of information and epistemic capabilities” of the SRC DECA project. Particularly, the trainee will assist the research team with the preliminary analyses of the survey data, literature reviews, and other research activities. The trainee will also participate in the seminars of the ESSO research group led by the applicant. The trainee will have a possibility to conduct their Master’s thesis utilizing the data and supervision of the project.

The person we are looking for


We are looking for a trainee and team player! As regards the educational background, the bachelor level studies in social psychology with a particular focus on and interest in the social psychology of intergroup relations would represent the best fit. In addition, the applicant is required to master basic skills in quantitative research methods. The expertise in qualitative research methodology and mixed methods is also beneficial. The applicant is expected to be fluent in English and Russian and have good skills in scientific writing. Finally, we are looking for a candidate, who is independent, curious, and inspired by the opportunity to do collaborative research.
