TRAINEE for the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies (trainee programme)

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

 

We are now looking for a TRAINEE for the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies

 

About the position  
  
The main duty of a trainee is to assist the Collegium researchers in their various research projects. Tasks of the trainees may include, for example, processing research material, retrieving information, editing publications, translating texts, and linguistic support. The trainee also assists at academic events and with unit communications and administration.

 

The person we are looking for  

 

We expect the trainee to have an excellent command of English, and other language skills are an asset. We particularly appreciate interest in research and in assisting with projects in the humanities and social sciences. We also appreciate willingness to engage with more practical duties related to organizing events, as well as a brisk attitude, team spirit and good organizational skills. Furthermore, we regard skills related to communications, photo and video editing, or layout design of publications as an asset.

 

In addition to the capabilities described above, we hope that you will adapt well to our open and collaborative work community.

We offer our trainees an international work environment and interesting assignments related to research in the humanities and social sciences. We support the trainees’ work with active guidance, so that you can get the most out of your traineeship. A two-month probationary period will apply.

 

This traineeship is a part of the international trainee program at the University of Helsinki. In addition to the support Collegium offers to the trainee, they will be invited into orientation sessions and other events within the trainee program.

 

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2025 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
