TRAINEE for the Faculty of Theology
The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.
We are now looking for two TRAINEES for the Faculty of Theology.
The trainees’ tasks include:

Assisting the Faculty's researchers in studying medieval literary knowhow within CODICUM project (ERC Synergy Grant). The tasks may include, e.g., the (protein and DNA) sampling and analysis of medieval parchment fragments at the National Library, contributing to the development of digital research tools, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with the organisation and referencing of research materials.

Assisting the Faculty’s Centre of Excellence, Meliorist Philosophy of Suffering in research tasks (for example review of bibliographies and references as well as indexing) and event organization.

Depending on the selected applicant’s background and motivation, tasks with data collection and analysis can also been included.
We expect good oral and written communication skills, ability to take initiative, as well as organizational skills. We appreciate the willingness and enthusiasm to participate in various work tasks. Knowledge of humanities and natural science research methods is considered an advantage.
The Faculty of Theology offers an encouraging work environment and interesting tasks, to which the intern is carefully introduced.
The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
