TRAINEE, Indigenous Studies

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

The discipline of Indigenous Studies at the University of Helsinki is now looking for a TRAINEE.

Your main tasks as a trainee are assisting in research work (references, bibliographies), organization of research materials, digitalization, transcription, social media updates, proofreading, organization of events and travels.

We expect you to have:

  • Working knowledge of English, possibly also in Portuguese 
  • A proven ability to write high-quality texts for a variety of audiences
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Indigenous or Sámi Studies is considered a plus when applying.

 

We offer you an international, multidisciplinary working environment and interesting tasks. With this position, we wish to encourage students with no previous traineeship experience to apply (and who would like to include the traineeship to their degree).

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
