Research Funding Advisor

RESEARCH FUNDING ADVISOR.


As a research funding advisor, you will be responsible for the expert services related to research funding at the University of Helsinki's Viikki campus and LUOMUS as part of the campus team. Your duties will focus on international research funding, particularly EU research funding.


You will support and guide researchers and faculties in improving the quality of their funding applications and assist in the preparation of funding agreements. As an advisor, you will participate in the development of processes related to funding applications and collaborate with funders. The position includes providing information and training related to research funding. In addition, you will support the management of faculties/units in planning research funding applications.


The position is a fixed-term substitute position until the end of May 2026. We hope that you will be able to join our team as soon as possible. The salary for the position will be set at €3,800-4,100/month at the beginning of the employment relationship, depending on the skills and previous work experience of the selected candidate.


About you


You enjoy working in an international environment with different people. You have a solution-oriented service attitude and good presentation skills. You are also capable of working independently and proactively, as well as accurately and systematically.
You have a master degree, preferably in a field that supports the activities of the Viikki campus. You are familiar with the world of research and higher education administration. You already have solid experience with research funders as an application preparer or applicant, and you are familiar with EU research funding instruments. In our international operating environment, you communicate fluently in English, both in writing and orally. Knowledge of Finnish is an advantage in this position, but not a requirement.


Research funding team


As a research funding specialist, you will be part of an inspiring and collaborative team of around 20 experts. We operate on all University of Helsinki campuses, i.e. Viikki, Kumpula, Meilahti, and the city center. Our experts work flexibly, both remotely and on-site. We will provide you with thorough training in the necessary processes and systems. The position will give you the opportunity to grow and develop your expertise as a research funding and administration specialist.
