Project Planner, Biodiversity on Campus -initiative

The ‘Biodiversity on Campus/Luonnon monimuotoisuus Kampuksella’ initiative (also known as the Viikki Campus Meadow initiative) seeks a

 

PROJECT PLANNER
 

to oversee and organize activities planned for the period of 1st of August until 31st of October 2024.

 

The applicant should at least hold a BSc’s degree in Biology or Sustainability, or any relevant subject. Strong organization skills and communication skills (in Finnish and English) are targeted and valued. The working language is English; proficiency in Finnish is also required. Experience with organizing outreach and graphical design are a plus, but not mandatory.

 

The tasks of the project planner are:
 

  • to oversee an outreach event ‘BioBlitz’ on campus – eg: advertise the event, reply to questions from participants, identify winners of the competition
  • to organise visits from school groups – eg: get in touch with teachers, book meeting rooms, guide outdoor activities
  • to supervise and contribute to the design of a nature walk, including information boards and website/social media presence.


The position is part time, from 1st of August until 31st of October 2024. The gross monthly salary will be 2400€ and overall salary will depend on the part-time percentage that will be agreed upon.
 

The candidate will be affiliated to Dr. Anne DUPLOUY’s research group, the Insect Symbiosis Ecology and Evolution (ISEE) research group, at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences (BioEnv) at the University of Helsinki, Finland. The BioEnv Faculty is located in the Viikki Science park. The University operates at the highest international level.
