PROJECT COORDINATOR
for the COPLA project at the University of Helsinki's Sustainable Wellbeing Unit.

About the COPLA project:
COPLA is a joint project of the University of Helsinki and Aalto University, which aims to strengthen the role of research in international climate negotiations. The project brings together the universities' excellence with Finnish companies and other societal actors. The project builds bridges between research and practical solutions and supports Finland's visibility as a leader in knowledge and climate solutions at the UN Climate Change Conferences.
Project coordinator:
As a coordinator, you will play a key role in building collaboration between researchers and companies and strengthening the societal impact of research at the UN Climate Change Conferences, in particular at the Finnish Pavilion. The job may include possible participation in the UN climate conferences in 2025 and 2026. As a coordinator, you will be responsible for the practical implementation of the COPLA project in cooperation with experts from both universities.
Your tasks will include:

Establishing and facilitating cooperation between scientists and companies participating in the UN climate conference

Identifying, engaging and maintaining collaboration with stakeholders

Facilitating the identification and identification of potential partners for the development and implementation of the project.

Communicating the project

Project management and reporting
The role may also include other tasks related to university activities.
Network and team:
You will be based in the Sustainable Wellbeing Unit at the University of Helsinki. The COPLA project is a joint project between the University of Helsinki and Aalto University, so you will also work in cooperation with experts from Aalto University. You will also work with researchers from both universities, as well as professionals from the communication and business cooperation teams.

The role does not allow for original research, but focuses on strengthening the societal impact of research and fostering collaboration between the scientific community and other societal actors.

The job is 50% part-time. The salary for 100% employment is €2800-3000/month, for 50% part-time, the salary is €1400-1500/month. The contract will start between June and August 2025 and run until the end of 2026.
