POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

 

The position is available immediately, but the starting date can be agreed. The position is initially for 2 years, with the possibility for extension.

 

 

Our research

We investigate novel mechanisms that regulate the formation and maintenance of the blood and lymphatic vascular systems in the body and explore how these mechanisms are impaired in inflammatory diseases and cancer causing fluid leakage and metastasis. We are especially interested in the regulation of endothelial cell-cell junctions, and signaling by endothelial growth factor and cell adhesion receptors. Your qualifications

We are looking for ambitious researchers with a PhD, a solid publication record, and strong background in any of the following: preclinical models, vascular/cancer biology, or cell biology.

 

Applicants should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills in English. 

 

The chosen applicant is expected to reside in Finland while employed by the University of Helsinki.

 

 

What we offer

Employment is expected to start during fall 2025, or agreed as soon as a suitable candidate is found, as a fixed 2-year position, with a possibility of prolongation. A 6-month trial period will be applied.

 

The salary will be based on the University salary scheme for research and teaching staff. The starting salary will be ca. 3 700 – 4 000 euros/month, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
