Laboratory engineer, Helsinki Institute of Physics

Helsinki Institute of Physics HIP is searching for a

LABORATORY ENGINEER
for a fixed period of 2,5 years starting from 1.1.2025 or as agreed. The laboratory engineer has an employment contract with the University of Helsinki.

 

The work will focus on the following tasks:

 • Ultrasonic welding (wire joining, wedge to wedge and single point tape automated bonding),

 • assembly work for electronics (gluing of radiation detector modules),

 • gluing and shape cutting work.
 

The person we are looking for

The person selected for the position must have a degree in a technical or natural science field. We value practically demonstrated knowledge of craftsmanship or similar, e.g. watchmaking / micromechanics work. The position requires the ability to work independently in an international environment and fluent command of the English language. Especially important is careful and conscientious working standards and the ability to work in a team. The candidate must also be able to travel within Europe.
