International Trainee for Research Management Support unit

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

 

We are looking for a trainee for the Research Management Support unit.

 

You will primarily be working with tasks related to the Research Assessment at the University of Helsinki (RAUH) project.

 

Main tasks of the trainee: 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and organized trainee to assist with the arrangements for an international assessment panel visit. As a trainee, you will work as a project group member in the UH Research Assessment Office. The project group includes a Project Manager and a Senior Advisor.

 

Your primary responsibility is to assist in planning and coordinating logistics, liaising with panel members, and ensuring the smooth execution of the panel visit. Additionally, you will be part of the Research Management Support unit team that employs 13 experts distributed across all campuses and offers diverse support to the university's academic leadership in the strategic management of research activities. This position will provide you with valuable insights into the strategic operations of an academic institution that is among the best in the world and the chance to contribute to its success.

You will be working in a multicultural setting that encompasses a wide range of disciplines and organizational cultures. It is essential to be systematic, cooperative, and able to work in an environment where changes are also possible. Fluency in working within a digital environment is required.

 

The specific focus of your responsibilities can be defined based on your experience, skills, and interests. You have fluency in spoken and written English. You have a proactive way of working and good communication and excellent teamwork skills. Experience in communications or event management is an advantage.

The duration of the traineeship is from 1st September to 31st December 2025 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee. You are eligible to apply if you are an international student enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.
