International Trainee for International Affairs team

The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.  

 

We are looking for a trainee for the International Affairs team.  

 

The team supports the University leadership and promotes the University’s strategic objectives for international engagement and partnerships. You will primarily be working with the University’s strategic Nordic, European and global collaboration.

 

Main tasks of the trainee: 

  • Tasks related to the University's regional programmes, strategic partnerships and networks
  • Tasks related to the University’s incoming and outgoing visits
  • Communication and event management tasks (such as planning and updating websites, writing news, arranging events).

 

We offer you an international working environment with supportive and fun colleagues and a view to the University of Helsinki’s strategic, global engagement. Throughout this traineeship, you will have the chance to enhance your communication skills. The specific focus of your responsibilities can be tailored to match your experience, skills, and interests.   

 

Who we are looking for:

A trainee with a proactive way of working, good organizing, communication, and teamwork skills. We expect you to have fluency in spoken and written English. Other language skills are an asset. Good digital skills are required, and an interest in improving them.  Experience in communications is an advantage.

The duration of the traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is 825€ per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
