Head of responsibility and well-being

We are now looking for someone to fill the role of HEAD OF RESPONSIBILITY AND WELL-BEING
 
to promote our ambitious goals of sustainable well-being and to lead the development of the university's sustainability and the well-being of the university community.

As the Head of Responsibility and Well-being, you will partner with the university's rector and management in advancing this strategic focus area. Your supervisor will be the HR Director.
 
We have been proactively developing all aspects of sustainability, responsibility, and well-being for a long time, and our team has strong expertise in all of these areas. However, this is a new position that offers the opportunity to develop a comprehensive approach in collaboration with researchers and experts in the field, further strengthening our university as a leader in sustainability, responsibility, and fostering a well-being and inclusive university community.
 
Your responsibilities include

  • Strategic development, planning and implementation of the sustainability, responsibility, and well-being, and also reporting together with your team and expert network
  • Enhancing the university's impact in these areas
  • Promoting strategic initiatives in the sustainable well-being focus area in collaboration with university management and the university community
  • Developing the operational culture of the university community
  • Guiding and coordinating the well-being work for students and postgraduates
  • Developing leadership and overseeing the well-being, work capacity, and shared expertise of staff and grant-funded researchers
  • Coordinating the overall sustainability and responsibility agenda
  • Leading the work of the expert team and the internal expert network of the university

 
With your approach, you will inspire the university community to engage in strengthening sustainable well-being. You already have a good network of collaborators and are an active networker in the field.

 

About you
You are a strong professional in responsibility, sustainability, and well-being, with a positive and forward-looking attitude. You have experience in leading comprehensive projects and measuring effectiveness. You also have demonstrated success in driving reforms.
 
You approach your work constructively and with genuine collaboration. You are not afraid of new challenges, or of trying new approaches and innovation. You are an experienced presenter and facilitator. Your communication and interaction are constructive, persuasive, and clear. The role includes supervisor responsibilities, and you have experience and a proven track record in successfully leading networks, teams, and/or projects.
 
For this position we require a higher university degree and experience in responsibility or well-being work within a large organization. Familiarity with academic work is an advantage. Proficiency in English is required; skills in Finnish and Swedish are an advantage.

The position is permanent and will be filled with a six-month probationary period.

 

The position's salary is at requirement level MV13 in the university salary system. In addition to that, a percentage-based component of the salary is paid based on performance. The salary for this position is approximately 6000-7000 euros per month. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's professional skills, experience, expertise, and final responsibilities.
