Doctoral Researcher in the field of biological toxins

The Finnish Institute for Verification of the Chemical Weapons Convention (VERIFIN) is looking for a PhD researcher for an EU project focusing on research in the field of biological toxins.


A person who has previous experience with chromatographic methods and mass spectrometry as well as experience with different sample preparation methods is best suited for the position. However, the key qualities are a passion for scientific research and the ability to work with a degree of independence. The applicant must have a master's degree in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or organic chemistry. Fluent English language skills are required from the applicant. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.


The position is expected to start in January 2025, and it is for a duration of three years. The applicant should either hold a doctoral study right at University of Helsinki or be able to attain one within the 6 months trial period at the beginning of employment.
