Business collaboration liaison manager

Would you like to work for a better world by helping to develop the business collaboration operations of Finland’s largest university?

At Communications and Community Relations, we are now looking for a

Business collaboration liaison manager

As business collaboration liaison manager, you will be responsible for the University’s diverse business collaboration operations. You will be the key account manager for designated partners, aiming to increase the value of collaboration and enhance customer satisfaction. Thanks to your familiarity with various funding opportunities (especially Business Finland funding instruments), you will support the advancement of collaborative projects of faculties and researchers. You will also develop business collaboration services together with the academic community. Furthermore, you will be responsible for customer acquisition and the establishment of collaborative projects. You will support the units under your responsibility in the strategic and long-term implementation of business collaboration while promoting the University’s societal impact and researchers’ networking with businesses.

Who you are

You have a suitable higher education degree, at least five years of experience in target-oriented sales and partnership work, new customer acquisition as well as demanding public relations duties. You have experience of applying for Business Finland funding (especially Co-Research and Co-Innovation instruments) and other funding instruments that support business collaboration. You have experience of establishing collaboration between businesses and research organisations as well as building up such collaboration. You have solid business knowledge and networks in business life.

You thrive in an international work environment and enjoy new challenges. You have the ability to inspire and persuade your collaboration partners with your skills and your precise and effective approach. You enjoy teamwork and co-creation, but complete your duties independently. You have experience of goal-oriented use of a CRM system in sales management and monitoring your performance. You are flexible in the face of changing circumstances and turn challenges into opportunities with a positive service attitude. You are able to work fluently not only in Finnish and Swedish, but also in English. We appreciate the ability to use Swedish actively in your work. You are confident and creative in giving presentations and you have versatile communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain networks in digital and other environments.

What do we offer you?

As liaison manager, you will be part of our friendly, enthusiastic and professional work community. We have a strong team spirit and work ethic, doing our best for the University with the help of a co-creation approach. You will be supported in your diverse duties by the extensive group of specialists working in the Communications and Community Relations sector, and will also have the opportunity to enhance your expertise. As part of our work community, you will collaborate closely with inspiring researchers and contribute to improving the conditions for research and education.

At the University of Helsinki, we will support your wellbeing and day-to-day activities, for example, through flexible working hours, annual leave exceeding the provisions of the Annual Holidays Act, comprehensive occupational healthcare scheme, a wide range of skills development opportunities, and inexpensive and diverse fitness services provided by UniSport.

University staff work in various locations both remotely and on site. We place great importance on ensuring that staff can work flexibly and reconcile work and leisure. We also consider it important to support inclusivity through sufficient social interaction in the workplace.

The salary will be based on level 10 of the job requirements scheme for specialist and support services staff in the salary system of Finnish universities. The position is for an indefinite term.
